HOW’S Ya Mate? a mental health and wellbeing program facilitated by Lifeline Regional SA & Far West NSW in collaboration with AFL Broken Hill, will host this week’s round of Australian Rules Football at the Jubilee Oval.
The HYM program is an initiative aimed at reducing the risk of suicide in sporting communities and aims to raise awareness surrounding mental health challenges through education and training, building capacity within sporting clubs to address mental health issues and creating a culture that allows players to have safe and open conversations about mental health.
The women’s round will commence tonight, Friday), with a 6pm kick-off at the Jube.
The men’s round will be played tomorrow with a 10am kick-off. Saturday’s event will include kids entertainment such as face painting, temporary tattoos, kids sport activities and more.
HYM tees and hoodies will be for sale, with all profits from the merch used to help improve mental health and wellbeing in sporting clubs.
