NORTH Broken Hill Bowling Club welcomed 11 participants playing two games in very pleasant conditions on Wednesday evening last week.

The only undefeated team comprised lead Jodie Hunter, second Dot McInnes and their skip Ken Hodge.

Brian Pascoe and Kris Hunter were on target with one resting toucher each, while Steve Cutting mixed matters up to deliver two wrong-bias bowls.

Wednesday evening bowls is scheduled to take place when Tuesday’s social bowls occurs during the afternoon. Tuesday evening bowls means no Wednesday bowls.

For Saturday social bowls last weekend, hot weather ensured that evening bowls was on the menu with 18 participants.

There was only one two-game winner – lead Amelia Butler, second Steve Cutting and their skip Ryan Atkinson.

Bob Sultana scored the only resting toucher. Zac Weekes won the wheel spin for the $25 resting toucher prize.

The 2024-25 Champion of Champions is a contest between the champions of both the North BHBC and Zinc BHBC, and will be held at the North BHBC on the following dates: Saturday, February 15 pairs, and Sunday, February 16 singles (both 9am starts).

North BHBC members are most welcome to watch our club champions in action: pairs Jenny Garnaut and Judy Calleia, and Peter and Steve Balman; and singles Steph Balman and Barry Hooker.

On Sunday, March 9, starting at 9.30am, MJG Engineering will be sponsoring a Pairs Medal Event, comprising four games: Game 1, three-bowls pairs, 12 ends; Game 2, 2-4-2, 10 ends; Game 3, two-bowl pairs, 16 ends; and Game 4, 2-2-2-2 pairs, 10 ends.

The cost is $10 and the dress is creams. Nominations close Tuesday, March 4.
