TENS of caravaners from around the country spent the week in Broken Hill, setting up camp at the Broken Hill Events Centre Racetrack.
The owners of the Crusader caravans spent the week visiting popular sights such as the RFDS Outback Heritage Centre, Bells Milk Bar, The Living Desert, Cops Hollow, the Palace Hotel and more.
Fran Doyle, a member of the National Crusader Caravan Club, said the caravaners found Broken Hill to be exceptionally welcoming.
“We have never experienced such a wonderful rural town of only 17,000 people who go out of their way to make so many out-of-towners feel so very welcomed,” she said.
“Visiting Broken Hill for all of us, The Crusader caravan family, has been an experience we will never forget.”
63 Crusader caravans gathered as part of the meetup, renaming the racetrack ‘Crusaderville’ for the week.
The caravaners also travelled via coach to Silverton and Menindee as part of their trip.
Ms Doyle said they were grateful for the hospitality they received.
“Our story to you is one of sincere appreciation and thanks,” she said.
“The people and businesses of Broken Hill have proved over and over again that they proudly wear their heart on their sleeve.”
