AS of last Sunday, QantasLink have introduced the larger Bombardier Dash-8 Q400 aircraft on flights between Broken Hill and Sydney.
The airline recently purchased 14 Q400s for the regional fleet, with the plane offering 74 seats as opposed to 50 in the Bombardier Dash-8 Q300s that had previously been used on flights between Broken Hill and Sydney.
A Qantas spokesperson said the addition of the bigger aircraft between Broken Hill and Sydney will add more than 100 seats per week to the route.
“The larger aircraft offer more seats, a faster flight time and will improve reliability” the spokesperson said.
“This is great for tourism and locals as is it will add the equivalent of more than 5000 seats between Broken Hill and Sydney each year.”
