A WOMAN who was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death and negligent driving after an incident on the Barrier Highway in March has had her sentencing adjourned while the court awaits toxicology reports.
On Tuesday, the court heard that sentencing of the accused would require a “reasonably extensive adjournment” due to toxicology reports and a post mortem report for her passenger, a 41 year old man, who died in the collision.
The two-vehicle crash took place shortly before 4pm on March 16, approximately 60 kilometres from Broken Hill in the direction of Wilcannia.
A hatchback and prime mover collided, with the truck driver, a 55 year old man, taken to Broken Hill Hospital in a stable condition.
The woman was excused from attending court due to residing in South Australia.
Magistrate McIntosh agreed to a two month adjournment while the court waits on outstanding reports.
The case will return to court in July.
