Mayors business seeks to get cash back

A BUSINESS owned by Broken Hill City Council Mayor Tom Kennedy, Broken Hill Sun Smart, appeared in local court on Tuesday, December 17, following a break-in in 2020 as part of an effort to return stolen property.

The hearing related to an application for disposal of property in police custody.

New South Wales Police are looking to return cash they seized as part of the robbery investigation, which resulted in the offender being prosecuted.

The money was stolen from Broken Hill Sun Smart and then used to purchase a product from Silver City Motorcycles.

The mention has been adjourned until Tuesday, February 11, as Mr Kennedy was not present on the day.
