Cop charged with gun offences

A 35-year-old police officer stationed at Western Region Command was served a court attendance notice on October 14 due to alleged firearm-related offences.

The constable, who’s employment status is “under review” according to an New South Wales Police statement, is set to appear in court next month on a range of unlawful gun possession charges, including possession of an unauthorised pistol

The investigation into the officer began in August 2023 and he is due to appear before Broken Hill Local Court on 26 November.
