Go kart club meets for biggest event yet

THE Broken Hill Kart Club hosted their fourth round of the season on the weekend, which president Hayden Slattery thinks may have been their biggest event yet.

“We had 27 entries, which is, I believe, our highest amount so far since restarting racing again,” he said.

“The canteen pretty much sold out of everything again.”

Go-karters as young as six competed as part of the event, along with pre-teen and teenage cadets, and seniors up to about 70 years old.

Mr Slattery said that the club is seeking more members to join or help out at the karting track.

“We’re always looking for new people to join, whether you’re a go-kart enthusiast or whatever, or you want to be an official or a general helper,” he said.

“Our focus is on family fun; we really want to have not just the kids but the mums and dads to have fun too.”

The club will meet for their next race on July 20.
