Broken Hill Speedway Club’s motocross meeting a success

ABOUT 65 competitors participated in the Broken Hill Speedway Club’s round one Motocross event for the season on Sunday.

Club secretary Ali Howse said the age range on the track ranged from four years old to 61.

Riders were predominantly local, with a few interstate riders travelling up to compete in the juniors.

Ms Howse said each class collected points based on how they placed, which will be used to determine overall winners for the year at the end of the season.

“We carry those scores through to our end of year presentation night where we have an overall winner,” she said.

Ms Howse also said the event ran perfectly as expected.

“We had awesome community attendance, cars were parked everywhere for people that were coming in,” she said.

“It’s free entry to the complex to watch motocross, and we have a canteen and bar there, so it’s well supported.

“The weather was beautiful and definitely on our side, and plus there were no accidents so it was a perfect meeting really.”

The club will next meet on June 1.
