Ready to jump for race day Cup day

The Silver City Cup is set to be held on Saturday, November 9, and feature horse racing, fashion and entertainment.

The raceday’s theme for 2024 is blue and silver, with the design brief set to inspire the fashions on the field comp.

Chair of the Silver City Cup, Dave Gallagher, said the event includes a six race card at the Broken Hill course, with trainers, jockeys and horses from Mildura, South Australia, and New South Wales.

“We’ve got an action-packed weekend,” he said.

“I’d say the fields will be good and we’ll just have to see what the day brings us”.

Gallagher said there’ll be activities for the kids on the day like face painting and a merry-go-round, alongside food vendors and a lawn bar for mums and dads.

“We’re asking people to bring a blanket out or chair out and enjoy themselves at a good family event,” he said.

Gates open for the Silver City Cup at 11am, with first race set to jump from the gates at about 1.10pm.

Tickets can be purchased at 123TIX online or calling 0429 466 431.
