Fair way to celebrate 94th birthday

RAY Sartori has been playing golf before there was turf at the Broken Hill Golf Course.

On February 1, Mr Sartori celebrated his 94th birthday and then on the Monday, he went to play 18-holes of golf with his Veterans Golfing Club members.

Despite the humidity, the club got their golf in, and finished by midday.

Fellow club member, John Coffey joked Mr Sartori had a “boring golf game”.

“He just played down the middle all day,” he said.

Mr Sartori enjoyed the ribbing and said he had no plans to give up golf anytime soon.

“I couldn’t play with a better group of men,” he said.

To join the club, you have to be over 55 years of age.
