West v South
AS I predicted, it must have been a training drill out at this game.
South walked straight through West with a 125-point win.
South are definitely the flag favourites, sitting clearly on top of the ladder. Whatever happens in the last two rounds, South will still end up minor premiers with a second chance.
But I don’t think they will need it.
South amass 19.5, whilst West could only manage a poor 1.3. It must have been absolute destruction in this game.
If West think they’re going to turn up and sneak a final, they’re dreaming, in this form.
They’re in to win two games so far this year and be handed a finals game.
Really frustrates me. I can’t have it.
South, North and Central all worked hard during this season to earn enough wins to qualify.
And I’m still going to bang on about the six-six-six rule. Still not implemented. I can’t comprehend why the league didn’t introduce it.
Anyway readers, sit tight, as we have an intriguing final series coming up with only two home and away games remaining.
North v Central
WOWEEEE! I just witnessed North being absolutely picked apart by Centrals.
Similar to South picking North apart the other week, North’s body language was extremely poor, and I have never seen a North team give up like that.
Fair enough, North had some players out. But that doesn’t excuse effort, intensity, pure attitude.
Don’t get me wrong, Central were excellent, lowering their eyes and picking North apart.
I’m not sure what North’s messaging was, but they were clearly belted in the midfield as Central waltzed their way out of North’s d50 with ease.
North had no pressure on the ball, as I scratched my head — no direction, no structure.
No shape is the best way to describe North’s game. Central simply picked them apart, and with two games to go before the finals, North should be worried.
They are much, much better than that. Central’s ability to hit the corridor on the 45 per cent was evident, as North had no corridor pressure on.
Time and time again, they went through there and still nothing from North; no wonder Central ran away 79-point victors.
I have been backing North all year but they were terrible today.
That’s twice this year I have seen them disinterested with poor body language.
But all the credit has to go to Central, who simply outcoached and outplayed North. It was noticeable Central pre-planned and carried it out perfectly.
Hopefully the Dogs took some lessons from this game, but if they line up against the Maggies in the finals, I hate to wonder what could possibly be the outcome.
Central sit one game behind North with two games remaining.
Central take on West next week, then South. Then we’re into the big boy games.
