Round eight heads to second leg

Dale Tonkin

West v Centrals

WHILE all the indicators point to Central winning this game, there’s nothing stopping the Robins from pinching another game.

Central have been fairly solid all year but if West can get the flare and run game going, they could pinch this one.

Central look settled and organised; they have all year.

I think that outside run has disappeared to a point.

I’m not sure if they get those two brothers from away back who seem to keep the Maggies’ outside run ticking over, or the lad from Flagstaff Hill, but all three of these players contribute immensely to their outside speed.

Westies, on the other hand, do have speed. It’s whether they can control the ball for long periods of time or hit the scoreboard enough, but I think this game will be a good contest.

I don’t think there’s the notion of easy wins these days, and if West are taken lightly they will punish you.

Like most games, the battle will be inside the midfield, two contrasting midfields that bring a different set of skills.

Central are strong with some height and are hard to shift off the ball, while West have run but they gotta use it to their advantage.

Who can get their hands on the ball? The first touch players will be crucial in this contest.

I’m going to go with the underdogs in this one. Cock Robins by 17 points.

Enjoy the footy, everyone.
