Expectations high in round seven

Dale Tonkin

North v Central

GAME of the round.

North seem to me to be back on track, whilst the Maggies just have to keep winning to build that confidence and connection.

This game will be a real contest and also maybe a battle in the coaches box as tactically it is a must win game for both teams. Let’s break it down.

Central are good at contested ball and winning key positional contests; North have the better skill sets and are quicker across the ground.

Ground balls will need to be halved and stoppages will need to be set up to execute take away. Hence why there should be a battle in the coaches box.

Who can get that tactical advantage, I will attend this game just for that reason.

So it’s all set up for a great game.

I think the Dogs might get the job done.

With ball movement and speed, I’m tipping Dogs by 10 points, but the Maggies will fight it out.

South v West

EVERYTHING points to the Roos in this game.

They are the form team and are ready to stamp there authority.

Whilst the Robins are searching for their first win, they just need to get the game on their terms and tempo.

If South start to put multiple goals in succession on the board, West will just need to slow it down, keep possession of the ball, and get the tempo on their terms, defend with ball in hand.

But South are good at winning the ball back, so when West get it on their terms, go and make the play no stop, start footy, which was the case last week.

Just keep it moving and gain territory. Don’t over commit as South will simply step around. They have so much upside to their game, it makes them powerful and dangerous.

I’m going to go with the Roos today, 45 points.

Enjoy the footy, everyone.
