Dog baiting to begin

IN an effort to control the wild dog population surrounding Broken Hill, Pooncarie and Mt Hope, Western Local Land Services is set to undertake an aerial baiting program.

The campaign will begin on the October 30 and finish on November 13, with meat laced with 1080 to be dropped along pre-planned bait lines.

The campaign will drop 10 baits for each kilometre of bait line, with ground baiting to follow.

Baits will be dropped near Enngonia, Broken Hill, Pooncarie, and Mt Hope.

To find out more about the program or managing pest animals in general, contact a Western Local Land Services biosecurity officer.
