RFDS backs Mundi Mundi Bash

RFDS South Eastern Section will be Mundi Mundi Bash’s charity partner again this year, with the festival set to bring Australian bands like Hoodoo Gurus, The Angels and Missy Higgins to the Far West in August.

Events like the Mundi Undi Run and the Nutbush World Record attempt will raise funds for the RFDS.

“The furthest corner deserves the finest care, and the incredible Mundi Mundi Bash community continues to demonstrate their commitment to our mission,” said the chief executive of RFDS south eastern section, Greg Sam.

“The generosity of the Outback Music Festival Group (OMFG) and the Mundi Mundi Bashers has raised over $550,000 since 2022, directly supporting our ability to respond to emergencies across the outback of NSW 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Ready to rock ‘n roll in Flying Doctor country this August, we’re excited to see some familiar and new faces again in 2025.”

The RFDS will host a Mobile Education Unit at the Bash for attendees to learn about the service and meet the team.

“Bashers come from all over Australia,” he said.

“Some of them live in regional areas, others come from urban cities.

“Most would have a GP somewhere in their community or have an Emergency Department nearby. That is not the case for the communities we support.

“When you visit the Bash, you’re guaranteed a good time, but you also have this amazing opportunity to experience the beauty and the isolation of the Far West.

“It really brings home just how important our services are.

“And if festival-goers look up while at the Bash, there’s a good chance they will see one of our aircraft flying overhead.”

The RFDS invite festival goers to extend their Outback experience and visit the recently re-opened Outback Heritage Experience at the Broken Hill RFDS base.
