Business program to support artists

LOCAL arts organisation West Darling Arts has launched a free 12 week business development program for artists across the Far West region, which will commence at the start of May.

The program is aimed at assisting artists in developing their creative business and commercialising their practice, and will be delivered in an in-person group setting.

Practical workshops will be hosted by West Darling Arts and Creative Plus Business, and participants will have the opportunity to hear from artists who have successfully converted their practice into thriving businesses.

Expected outcomes for participants include enhancing skills, confidence and readiness in pursuing commercial opportunities, networking with like minded creatives, preparing products, improving their digital presence and more.

The program will also offer one-on-one mentorship from West Darling Arts after completion of the program.

The program is free and has capacity for up to 10 participants, who must be able to attend all sessions in person, which will be hosted on Thursday evenings at the West Darling Arts hub on Blende Street.

To register your interest, email project officer Hester Lyon at projectofficer@westdarlingarts.com.au

Registrations close on 27 April, with participants notified on 1 May and the program beginning on 8 May.
