North takes win over Central

IN a fiery A grade match, North Cricket Club came away with a 47 run win against Central Cricket Club on Saturday.

Michael Maalste and Connor McLean headed out to opening the batting for North at the Alma Oval.

North dug in quickly with Maalste hitting Hannon for six in the fourth over.

It wasn’t until over nine that Sheldon Hall caught Maalste on 19.

Tobias Hack came out swinging with a smattering of sixes in between plenty of runs.

McLean notched up a number of fours before getting out in the 18th over on 12 caught by Riley Jennings.

Benjamin Jurd was then out for eight caught by Sheldon Hall.

Hack continued to knock the ball around with boundaries flying everywhere.

Austin Wilson was dismissed in the 27 over for 11 before being bowled by Zac Robards.

Hack and Codie Howard dug in hit a number of boundaries between them.

Hack was finally bowled by Brett Hannon scoring 50 runs.

Howard was then caught by Riley Jennings on 18.

Luke Hall was bowled by brother Sheldon for three runs.

Keiran McEvoy was then caught by Joel Delaney for a duck.

Jordan Vella was caught by Jarred Paull on three in the 38th over.

Jaxon Cain and Nash Mitchell remained in until the 40th over.

By over 40, North were 9 for 157.

Central came out to take charge but the opening two, Justin Heath and Adam Rhodes, fell for ducks.

Followed by Hall and Paull who also fell for ducks.

Wilson secured three of those wickets, bowling Rhodes and Hall and getting Paull for an LBW.

Robards was able to make 30 not out but Rocky Ninovic was caught and bowled by Wilson for a golden duck.

Delaney was caught by Hack for six and Jordan Vella got Jennings for an LBW.

Vella then caught and bowled Scott Mateer who managed to get 35.

O’Mally was caught by Hack for a duck.

It was all over and Central were out for 110 in the 27th over.North scorecard
