BETTY Day will celebrate her hundredth birthday on December 17, and despite insisting a fuss needn't be made, her family are excited to celebrate with her over lunch at the St Anne's Nursing Home.

Ms Day was born in Broken Hill Hospital in 1924, and lived out on Coombah Station, halfway between Mildura and Broken Hill.
