NSW Fair Trading is hitting the road again this year, hosting a series of community engagement events throughout New South Wales.
These events aim to inform consumer groups, small businesses, and traders on their rights and responsibilities, as well as the services offered by NSW Fair Trading.
In collaboration with local organisations, NSW Fair Trading will deliver a program covering a wide range of topics, such as cost of living, tenancy issues, consumer rights, scams and more.
The roadshow will be in Broken Hill from July 23 to 26 and will be partnering with local stakeholder organisations including local council, neighbourhood services centre, youth organisations, disability services and Aboriginal organisations to hold a variety of community workshops.
The roadshow will feature sessions aimed at educating service providers and community groups to navigate tenancy issues and manage cost of living pressures, connect with vital services and supports available, speak directly with essential government and community services and learn about consumer rights and the NDIS.
The first event will be the Tenancy, scams and ID safety forum which will be on July 24 from 9.30am to 12.20pm at the Civic Centre.
The target audience is community service workers.
The next talk will be on Australian Consumer Law for Disability Service Providers from 1pm on July 24 at the Civic Centre.
The target audience is disability workers.
There will also be a community barbecue on July 25 at the PCYC in Gypsum Street from 5.30 to 7.30pm.
