Park event to spotlight youth

TO celebrate Youth Week 2025 and Youth Homelessness Matters Day, Mission Australia is partnering with other local services to host the annual, free, Youth Week in The Park event.

Youth Week 2025 runs from April 9 to 17, with this year’s theme being ‘We are the future, and the future is now!’

Young people in Broken Hill will have the opportunity to participate in fun activities like laser tag, children’s craft, various games, and slime making.

There will also be a free photo booth and BBQ.

Mission Australia program manager David Bailey said he’s excited to celebrate youth week and connect with the community at Sturt Park.

“It will be a great day out, and local community services will be on site to share information about support services that are available to young people and families in Broken Hill,” he said.

Mr Bailey also mentioned that Mission Australia will also be launching their 2025 Mission Australia Youth Survey at the event.

“The annual survey gives us an insight into the wellbeing of young people and provides them with an opportunity to share what they think are the most important issues impacting Australia, their hopes for the future and their experiences,” he said.

Youth Week in the Park will take place on Wednesday April 16 from 12pm to 3pm at Sturt Park.
