Santas brekky draws big crowd

SANTA’S Annual Breakfast with the kids of Broken Hill has drawn a large crowd with help from his friends at the Y’s Men’s Club.

The annual get-together has been going since 1982, with the club’s Christmas coordinator, Simeon Kloczko, saying the day had a great turn out.

“We had between 50-60 kids, which is up from last year but not the 100 or so we used to get in our hey-day. But it’s a good number,” he said after the popular event on Saturday, December 7.

Since COVID the club has been slowly getting back to the success of years past, with this year’s event featuring lucky door prizes and a special visit from Santa.

Mr Kloczko said the success was thanks to the generous Broken Hill community.

“We have to thank the people and businesses that support us; Hockos Bike Shop, Busy Kids, the Musicians’ Club, families of the Y’s Club, and YMCA staff,” he said.

“It’s that ongoing generosity of the Broken Hill community that makes events like this possible.”
