Broken Hill Men’s Indoor Bowls Association

ROUND was 8 played on Tuesday, July 1 was a very interesting night of big boys losing and the Mino winning.

Try-Hards team of C. Francis, Rod White, Paul Dettorrie, and Skip by Justin Nankiville win their first game since joining the competition as a team.

They defeated the champions Muso Flags 16 to 14. Congratulations boys, well done.

The other game was between Demo and Sturt; this was a hard triples game all the way through the night with both teams not having their normal roster of players, so a two-bowl triples was played after the 6th end 5 all, and Demo broke the game open after the 9th end 9 to 6 Demo way.

After the 11 end 12 to 7 and building pressure from the 12 end, Demo did not score again and Sturt piled on 10 shots to run over Demo 17 to 12, as if Demo or even Sturt missed some important shots, with both teams missing some vital shots.

Sturt team of Adrian Barron, Milton Snr, and Milton Jnr running out winner to the fancier team of Paul Thys, Bob Smith and Bill Gebhardt.

The ladder has changed once again:

Sturt Rebels 12pts +34

Demo 10pts +46

Flags 8pts +17

Try Hards 2pts

Round 9 will be played on Tuesday, July 8.

Sturt versus Flags

Demo versus Try-Hards

Good bowling. members.

The Broken Hill Mixed Indoor Bowls Association will start their Mixed Pairs championship on Thursday, July 3 at The Muso Club.
