SATURDAY evening saw the first community market of the year at the Community Centre at Sturt Park, and a trial of a Summer twilight market.
Event co-ordinator Trevor Dart said the mild weather on Saturday afternoon helped in the event being such a success.
“The market went well, and the good weather meant that the evening was perfect for this outdoor event to occur,” he said.
Mr Dart said the event, which is usually hosted on a Saturday morning, was a trial to see if the event would benefit from being hosted later in the day.
“This was a trial to see how a twilight market would work in February, and we were very happy with the results,” he said.
Mr Dart said market-shoppers came out in numbers and he was grateful to the community of Broken Hill for supporting local business.
“We were impressed with the crowd that came through and sincerely thank the people of Broken Hill for supporting our market in the way they did.”
