Double identity man pleads not guilty

AN man with two alleged identities faced a committal hearing last week where he plead not guilty to a range of offences.

Ryan Edgecombe, also known by an alleged alias Fred Edgecombe, attended his committal hearing via audio video link on Tuesday, March 25, at the Broken Hill Local Court.

Magistrate Jaqueline Trad approved the withdrawal of two charges of breaching an apprehended violence order, and stalking.

Mr Edgecombe pleaded not guilty to five counts of sexual intercourse without consent, one count of stalking and intimidation with intent/fear of causing physical harm, and one count of intentionally choking a person without consent.

Police allege the charges related to non-consensual sex and choking were committed between 24 and 28 April last year, while the intimidation claim rates to a date in mid October.

All the crimes allegedly took place at Sunset Strip, near Menindee.

The case was committed for trial in the District Court and Mr Edgecombe remains on bail.
