Screaming Jets at full throttle

LOCALS had a screaming good time with The Screaming Jets on Friday.

The band, which originated in Newcastle more than 36 years ago, treated locals to a great performance at the Civic Centre.

Frontman Dave Gleeson said they were missing Scott Kingman due to illness, but members of the warm-up act LOLA filled in at various parts of the night.

Gleeson said they enjoyed their time in Broken Hill and had a small pub crawl the night before – going from the Palace, Astra and enjoying their last stop at the Workies.

The crowds were in fits with jokes, backflips and classics being played including Better, Shivers and Helping Hand.

The event was put on by City Council and the Great Southern Nights – which provides live gigs across NSW.
