OVER 50 heritage projects from throughout New South Wales have been spotlighted for the 2025 National Trust Heritage Awards shortlist, with Broken Hill’s Royal Flying Doctor’s Outback Heritage Experience making the shortlist.
Freeman Ryan Design, who worked on the Outback Heritage Experience centre with Royal Flying Doctor Service, has been nominated for the Events, Exhibitions and Tours category at the award’s 31st ceremony, which will be held on May 16 at Doltone House in Sydney.
The Outback Heritage Experience centre, next to Broken Hill Airport, is a new, permanent exhibition that showcases the history of the Flying Doctor.
The exhibition includes vintage aircrafts, artefacts, personal stories, interactive displays and more.
National Trust NSW chief executive Debbie Mills said she was inspired by the effort to promote heritage.
“The response to the 31st annual Heritage Awards has been remarkable. The effort to promote and conserve heritage right across the state is very inspiring to see,” she said.
“We congratulate all entrants and those who have been shortlisted for their incredible achievements.”
