Man refused bail for theft, drugs

A 36-year-old man will come before the Broken Hill Courthouse, with charges including aggravated breaking and entering as well as possessing drugs and suspected stolen goods.

Police arrived at the property on Williams Street shortly after 7am on Tuesday morning, after the alleged break and enter.

In the Barrier Police District, officers were informed that between 11.30pm on Monday, August 18 and 7am, August 19, the man allegedly broke into a home and stole personal possessions, along with cash, before vacating the property.

Following an investigation and inquires, police were able to make an arrest.

Police arrested the man along Chloride Street on Wednesday afternoon. The officers allegedly found methylamphetamine on his person.

After being refused bail, he appeared in court on Thursday.
