IN an opportunity that only arises every five years, WaterNSW is seeking new member nominations for its customer advisory groups (CAG) throughout NSW.
CAG membership is open to members or representatives of water users or industry groups that are nominated as a representative for their association.
WaterNSW uses CAG groups to have dialogue with a variety of customers from different walks of life.
This includes representation from groundwater water operations and public water utilities for example.
CAG areas across the state are Barwon-Darling, Border Rivers, Coastal-Hunter, Greater Sydney, Gwydir, Lachlan, Macquarie-Cudgegong, Murray-Lower Darling, Murrumbidgee, Namoi and Peel.
Menindee Lakes, a common watering hole for Broken Hill locals, is located in the Murray-Lower Darling CAG area.
WaterNSW executive manager corporate affairs Clair Cameron said the utility views CAG as its main customer consultation tool.
“They provide an important forum to engage and consult on a local-area basis with a broad cross-section of our customers, on issues relevant to our performance and delivery of services to customers,” Ms Cameron said.
The nominations opened on Monday, March 3, and close on Thursday, April 17; with the next opportunity to join the groups in 2030.
The new term of office begins for the groups on Tuesday, July 1.
