South v Central
BOTH teams are sitting at the top of the ladder, with Central coming off four wins in a row.
Both teams are looking to secure the top spot on the ladder, crucial game for both sides.
South’s second half last week was excellent; they moved the ball with intent and purpose; young Mcully looked good with speed; and Bryce Langdon looked very impressive.
To me, Central have finally got that outside speed and will be very hard to contain.
For me, it’s the experience of South that will get them over the line.
However if they over-possess the footy again, Central will get them.
Who can play the full four quarters is what it will come down to; managing moments in the game; who is working hard from contest to contest; which team is better structured up during red time; all these points will dictate the winner.
I am going with the Roos by 12 points but I wouldn’t be surprised if Central get their fifth win on the trot.
This should be a cracking game and best of luck to both teams.
North v West
WESTIES have been working really hard to get their first win and from what I saw last week, North are back on track to make a difference.
They looked extremely good in patches last week. Even though the Roos took care of them, I thought North’s direct play was a huge positive.
Personal does play a big part in a small competition like ours and North are yet to play some of their stars.
I’m not sure if Kel is back and I reckon Nash Mitchell could be missing as well.
But that won’t stop the Dogs. They have more than enough soldiers to get the job done.
West need to just continue to chip away every contest they need to win or at least halve, little by little work their way into the game, do not accept mediocrity or defeat.
There comes a time you have to make a stand and Saturday is their opportunity.
Having said that, I think the Dogs will eventually get the job done.
I’m going the dogs by 30 points.
