The NSW Farmers’ Empowering Women in Farming Businesses event held last week has been described as a huge hit with local agricultural women, attracting around 45 attendees at the Musicians Club for a day of networking and learning.
The event, the last in a string of 12 held across the state, aimed to empower women in the sector through financial and business education, alongside networking.
NSW Farmers project officer Karen Weller organised the dozen events including the Broken Hill one.
“Every event has been different,” she said. “We put out EOI 9expression of interest) to see where women need us and what to cover.
“Here, the connections, the networking, was one of the biggest things that people really wanted us to cover.
“We just wanted to show them the power of community and that confidence within themselves.
“To know you can’t do it alone in any community.”
