Broken Hill Men’s Indoor Bowls Association

THE last round of the winter competition was played last Tuesday night, July 15 with the following results.

Demo defeated Flags 16 to 11. This was a triple game as Demo had a player recovering from an operation. Demo jumped out of the blocks early and Flags kept chasing and never caught them all night and ran out

victors by five shots. This result moved Demo into second spot on the ladder and will meet the Muso Flags in the semi-final next Tuesday night, July 22 .

The second game was a one-sided game with two full teams lining up, after 6th end both teams were level at 4 all. But then Sturt put their foot down and scored the next nine ends to one, running out winners 24 to 5.

The game had some interesting twist and turns with Try-Hards not handing the result on a silver platter.

The ladder after 10 games stands now at:

Sturt Rebels 14 pts +51

Demo 12pts +45

Muso Flags 10pts +19

Try-Hards 4pts.

The semi-final will be Demo versus Muso Flags next Tuesday night, July 22.

The winner of the semi-final will meet Sturt Rebels in the grand final to be played on July 29.

The Men’s Singles championship will commence on Tuesday, August 5 through to August 19 with two games per night, 16 ends with the format depending on the number of entries.

Good bowling, members.
