A Grade R1 Souths V Central
SOUTH’S A grade side kicked off their season with a T20 game against Central at the Alma oval.
Captain Tristen Smith won the toss and elected to bat first on a good pitch.
The openers got off to a flyer with some power hitting and a bit of finesse before Central responded with some tight bowling and fielding.
Unfortunately, there was not much success with the remaining South batters. Top scorers for South were Binu Sebastian 21 and Alex Thomas 10.
Some tidy bowling from N. Christos had South’s bowling innings off to a good start, followed by some great fielding by debutante B. Skelton running out a Central opener with a direct hit.
Another quick wicket to N. Christos had South spirits high with lots of banter and chat in the field and chasing everything down.
In the end Central were too good and they came away with the win.
Best of the South bowlers were N. Chistos 2/16 and Joshua Hands 1/17.
