South comes up short against Warriors

B grade R3 South V Warriors

THE new South uniform was displayed at the weekend with the South B Grade going up against the Warriors.

South won the toss and elected to bat.

Matthew Gray and Tom Langford led the way with the bat with Gray making some classy shots before falling victim to some fine bowling and fielding by the Warriors.

Wickets continued to fall before J. Green showed some control in the middle with B. Clarke, finishing off the innings with some courageous batting.

At the end of the innings, South had managed 106 with Gray 27 and Green 21 being the best of the batsmen.

It was going to be a tough day in the field as South were two short in the field.

Sione Tuipulotu made his debut as wicketkeeper for South and displayed some excellent skills behind the stumps.

Gray and Langford opened the bowling, followed up by J. Lloyd, Michael Webeck and Lachlan Erskine all rolling the arm over.

They were unable to snag a wicket as the Warriors convincingly chased down the runs.
