ALLEGED child sex offender and former teacher Thomas McKeown’s bail was again reviewed on Monday, with new terms that allow him to be around his new-born child.
The variation to his bail conditions come as Mr McKeown has been charged with more offences.
At his last court appearance on Friday, December 20, Mr McKeown had been accused of 34 counts of aggravated sexually touching another person – which are alleged to be all underage children – he now faces 38 charges.
On Monday in court, the defence was notified by Magistrate Jacqueline Trad that their application to change a bail condition banning Mr McKeown from being in contact with anyone under 18, was successful.
The condition now states he is still not to approach, communicate or attempt to make contact with any person under the age of 18 years, however his new-born child is now an exception.
The alleged offender is next set to appear in court on Tuesday, January 21.
