North Broken Hill Bowling Club Report

Saturday social bowls, July 12, 2025

DELIGHTFUL calm, mild 18 degrees conditions saw 18 social bowlers play three games of triples twice.

Peter Merritt and Nathan Gageler were the only unbeaten skips which forced a spin.

The number 94 was top news for Peter’s team which included lead Brian Pascoe and second Glen Weekes.

Amelia Butler and Brian Jones both produced one resting toucher each.

Saturday social bowls, July 19, 2025

FOR the second Saturday in succession, calm sunny weather attracted 20 participants.

The wheel spin was rendered redundant when only one team won both their pairs’ matches, which comprised lead June Walker and her skip Graham Riley.

Barry Hooker scored the only resting toucher, but the shot of the day was achieved by Brian Pascoe with the unbeatable feat of a resting toucher in the ditch.

Broken Hill Men’s Indoor Bowls Association

WE are in the semi-finals stage or the winter competition with the two outstanding teams in 2025 to contest an elimination final to see who goes into the grand final against Sturt Rebels on Tuesday, July 29.

The game ended up with three players each with sickness preventing both teams to fill a full side.

Demo jumped out in front and held the foot against Muso Flags throat pretty much all game and went on to win 17 to 12.

The Flags did not give a wimp, as they only scored on seven ends; they got very close on the 14th end 14 to 10, but a rush of blood saw young Aaron Hawke knock the kitty off with frustration of his team.

Lack of good bowls, and the penalty of 3 was too much to bridge the gap.

Demo will march into the grand final next week against Sturt Rebels.

BH Mixed Pairs Championships are coming along fine and will move into the fourth round.

The Men’s Singles Championships nominations are open now. You can nominate with secretary Milton Hawke Snr or Jnr.

Good bowling, members.
